How to Fix Error Code -54 in iTunes on Windows 10

iTunes is an iOS media player for PC that used for organizing, play, save, and download music or video files. It also can connect to iTunes Store to purchase and download music and manage contents on iPhone, iPad, and iPod.

With recently Windows 10 update, some Windows users facing problem error code -54 in iTunes that iPhone, iPad, or iPod not recognized in iTunes or can’t sync to iTunes on your PC. Error code -50 is a generic code meaning there’s some sort of communication difficulty. The iTunes folder is mark as Read Only after Windows 10 update cause it can’t sync between iOS device and PC.

Fortunately, with just simple tricks below Windows 10 users able to sync iOS device with PC and back up or running smooth as usual.

Here how to fix error code -54 in iTunes on Windows 10:

1. First, launch the Windows Explorer and head to the Music folder.
2. On Music folder, search for iTunes folder.
3. Once found it, right click on iTunes folder.
4. Go to Properties and Uncheck the Read Only option under Atrributes.
   Note: The Windows will pop up screen as it applies the changes to all the sub-folders.

Some Windows 10 users also having same trouble after apply the tricks above. To fix it, users just need to full control over the iTunes folder by right click the folder again > properties > security > edit > full control and then apply the settings. Once settings done, the iTunes will sync with iOS device without an issue.
